2009 SPEN VALLEY CIVIC
SOCIETY CALENDARThe perfect gift for friends and family both here at
home and abroad – a beautiful full colour picture calendar of Spen Valley.
The Spen Valley Civic Society
are pleased to announce the publication of the Society’s spectacular 2009
calendar. The object of producing this calendar is to publicise the aims and
objectives of the SVCS and some of the work and projects which it has
undertaken, over a number of years, to benefit the Spen Valley. It is hoped
that the sales will raise much needed funds to enable the Society to continue
its work in the Spen Valley.
The calendar, which is
printed in full colour, is A3 in size and depicts many historic and outstanding
locations in Spen Valley as well as linking in to the Society’s successful Spen
Fame Trail project which commemorates famous people, past and present, of the
Valley.
Amongst the 12 illustrations
are images celebrating the Valley’s Bronte heritage, historic buildings which
the Society has helped to save, and the Valley’s manufacturing history showing
the only car manufactured in Cleckheaton along with the famous Panther
motorcycle. The arts are represented by a work by Edward Alexander Wadsworth
from the Tate Gallery whilst the Society’s Savoy Square and Miners Memorial
projects are included. Each image is fully explained and the calendar is a mine
of information.
The calendar is on sale
through local retailers at £4.50 or
direct from the Society priced at £5.50
(including postage and package)
